Health Care re·form  (r-fôrm) An open letter

Health care reform as currently constituted is neither about health care, nor about reform. I'm writing to beg, and direct congress, to the extent that you'll work for me, not to do this terrible thing. Not because of the enormous job and economy, and revenue killing tax increases which purport to pay for it (NOT), though that, alone, would be reason enough to vote NO. Not merely because of the unprecedented shifty, sketchy, dare I say unethical procedural manipulations bypassing normal Senate tradition, though that alone would be sufficient reason to vote NO. Not just because of the Government take over and intrusion into our private health care decisions, (If BCBS screws me I can sue. Can I sue UNCLE?) though this alone is a good reason to vote NO. Not because this Law attempts to reduce cost by artificially reducing payments to providers (At a low price less will be supplied) and artificially lowering cost on average to the consumers, (At a low price more will be demanded.) (HA, I mean NOT) which is to say increasing the shortage in health care.
But because of the greatest and most terrible cost of all. This is a blue print on how to take the profits out of Health Care. Without a normal profit, or lots of pure profit for all I care, R & D funds will die, and my and your children will never have the treatments and cures they should have. Our grandchildren should expect to survive Pancreatic Cancer, and Hart Disease, and thrive with Diabetes. They should have effective treatments and even cures for Asama and Hemorrhoids too. Non of these or any other will ever happen if you do this thing. As you love your children you must vote NO.
